Tianjin University CSC High-Level Postgraduate Scholarship 2027

Tianjin University (天津大学) has opened applications for the 2027 Chinese Government Scholarship, High-Level Postgraduate Program (Type B). It is for international students planning Master's or PhD study. The application deadline is 15 January 2027, earlier than at many Chinese universities.

What the scholarship covers

• Tuition waiver.
• On-campus accommodation.
• A monthly living allowance of CNY 3,000 for Master's and CNY 3,500 for PhD students.
• Comprehensive medical insurance for CSC students.
• The scholarship period is 2–3 years for Master's and 3–5 years for PhD students.
• Selection follows individual application, university recommendation, expert review and merit-based admission.

Who can apply

• Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport. Former Chinese citizens who later took foreign nationality must meet the Ministry of Education rules for that group.
• Master's applicants: bachelor's degree and under 35.
• PhD applicants: master's degree and under 40.
• Good moral character, good physical and mental health, and willingness to follow Chinese law and TJU rules.
• Chinese-taught programmes: HSK 5 with 180 or above (exemptions possible after TJU certification).
• English-taught programmes: TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0. The English-taught MBA asks for IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 85, GPA above 3.2 of 4.0, one year of work experience and a supervisor letter, and is closed to applicants graduating in 2027.

Documents you need

1. Diplomas from undergraduate level onward (pre-graduation certificate if not yet awarded).
2. Notarised transcripts for all degrees.
3. Passport copy, valid beyond September 2027.
4. Chinese or English language certificate.
5. Study resume from senior high school onward, with no gaps.
6. TJU supervisor acceptance letter, if you have one.
7. Study or research plan of at least 1,000 words; PhD plans must be signed by the Chinese supervisor.
8. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
9. Foreigner physical examination form completed after 30 September 2026, valid for six months.
10. Non-criminal record certificate issued within six months (final-year students: a university conduct certificate).
11. Published papers or acceptance notice (required for PhD), and a portfolio or video for Architecture.

How to apply, step by step

1. Apply on the CSC system with agency number 10056 and Type B.
2. Download the CSC application form.
3. Register on the TJU online system, complete the application and upload all documents.
4. Watch your email for interview notices. A missed interview counts as withdrawal.
5. TJU sends successful applicants to CSC for review.
6. Check the result on the TJU website and collect your admission notice and JW201 form.

Important dates

Tips for Bangladeshi applicants

• The January deadline is early. Order attested transcripts and degree certificates from Bangladesh now, not in December.
• Get the medical form done after 30 September 2026 and make sure it stays valid for six months when you submit.
• PhD applicants should line up publications and a signed plan, and Master's applicants should contact potential supervisors early; see the CSC guide.
