Jiangsu Normal University Chinese Language Program, Spring 2027 Intake

Jiangsu Normal University (江苏师范大学) is taking applications for its spring 2027 Chinese Language Program, a non-degree course for international students who want to learn Mandarin in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. Tuition is CNY 6,250 a semester, and applications close on 3 January 2027, or sooner if places run out.

What the program offers

  • Mandarin classes run by JSNU's International College in multimedia classrooms, with a Chinese culture room, a reading room, a counselling room and a separate library.
  • The chance to sit the HSK on your own campus, because the International College is an official test centre.
  • A flexible length: pay for one semester, or for a full year if you want to reach a higher level.
  • Study at an established university. JSNU was founded in 1952, is backed jointly by Jiangsu Province and China's Ministry of Education, hosts Chinese Government Scholarship students and has welcomed students from 76 countries and regions.

The spring brochure does not list course levels or weekly class hours, so ask the International College about placement before you pay.

Who can apply

  • Foreign nationals in good physical and mental health who meet China's health standards for international students.
  • Applicants who will follow Chinese law and university rules.
  • Normally aged 18 or over. If you are under 18 on 1 March 2027, you need a guardian's guarantee letter and a power of attorney; templates are in the online system.
  • You must have held a foreign passport or proof of nationality for at least four years, and lived abroad for at least two of the four years before 1 March of the admission year. Nine months in a year counts as a full year, checked against passport stamps.
  • The brochure also lists a valid X1 or X2 study visa, or a study residence permit. Ask the International College how this applies if you are applying from Bangladesh.

Tips for Bangladeshi applicants

  • A language semester is a low-cost way to build Chinese before a Chinese-taught degree. JSNU also runs a separate CSCA foundation programme if your goal is a bachelor's degree.
  • Pay tuition promptly after pre-admission, since that sets your place in the queue for campus beds.
  • Stays of more than six months normally need an X1 visa and shorter ones an X2. Read our China student visa guide and confirm with JSNU.
  • Check bank details with JSNU's official admissions office before you transfer, and keep the slip.
  • Compare this with other intakes in our China intakes and deadlines guide.
