Jiangsu Normal University (江苏师范大学) in Xuzhou is recruiting for its spring 2027 CSCA foundation programme, a preparatory semester for international students who must sit the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) before applying for bachelor's study in China. Applications run from 12 October 2026 to 15 January 2027, and close earlier if places fill.

- Once you finish the courses with a qualifying CSCA result, you can apply to any university in JSNU's partner network of more than ten institutions, including Harbin Engineering University, Beijing Jiaotong University, China University of Mining and Technology, Northeast Forestry University and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. Each university makes its own admission decision.
- Partner universities visit the centre for early selection rounds, where strong students may be considered first for places and scholarships.
- Students who want to aim higher can stay one more academic year at half the tuition.
JSNU reports that its centre taught 162 foundation students in 2025–26 and that more than 98% went on to bachelor's study. Past results describe earlier groups, not your own outcome.
Who can apply
- Foreign nationals with a valid passport who will follow Chinese law and university rules.
- Aged 17 to 25, with a high school diploma or equivalent backed by valid documents.
- Applicants under 18 on 1 January 2027 must add a guardian's guarantee letter and a power of attorney.
- No criminal record, and good physical and mental health under China's health standards for international students.

How to apply, step by step
- Register on JSNU's online application system for international students.
- Fill in the form, pay the CNY 500 application fee by bank transfer and upload the receipt.
- Submit, then wait for the review and an interview invitation.
- After the interview, JSNU usually emails the result within three working days.
- If you receive pre-admission, pay the tuition within the stated time limit and email the receipt. Missing the deadline cancels the offer.
- JSNU then emails your official admission documents for the visa application.
