Beihang University Undergraduate Admission 2027: CSCA, Fees, Deadline

Beihang University (北京航空航天大学), known as BUAA, has opened its 2027 international undergraduate admission. Four-year degrees are taught in Chinese, English or French in Beijing and at the Hangzhou International Campus, and every applicant needs a CSCA test score. Applications close on 30 May 2027; most scholarships close on 30 April 2027.

What the program offers and costs

• Chinese-taught tuition: CNY 25,000 a year for science, engineering, economics, management, humanities and law; CNY 30,000 for Biomedical Engineering and art majors. All Chinese-taught majors are on the Beijing Xueyuan Road campus.
• English-taught tuition: CNY 30,000 a year, or CNY 80,000 for Beihang Valencia Polytechnic Institute majors in Hangzhou.
• French-taught tuition will be announced separately.
• Application fee: CNY 400 by bank transfer, non-refundable.
• Insurance: CNY 3,200 for all four years, paid in one go at registration.
• Housing (double room): CNY 30 per bed per day in Beijing, or CNY 2,000 per bed per year in Hangzhou, plus utilities. You book after admission.

Majors by language and field

Which CSCA subjects you need

• English-taught majors: Mathematics and Physics, plus Chemistry for Biomedical Engineering. International Economics and Trade needs Mathematics only. Take the English-language papers; no Chinese test is needed.
• Chinese-taught science and engineering: Chinese (science), Mathematics and Physics; the two materials majors and Biomedical Engineering add Chemistry.
• Chinese-taught economics, humanities, law and art: Chinese (humanities) and Mathematics.
• The subject list does not cover French-taught majors, so ask Beihang directly.

Who can apply

• Non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport whose nationality status meets China's rules for international students. This matters if either parent is or was a Chinese citizen.
• Healthy applicants of good conduct, normally aged 18 to 22, who have finished high school.
• Chinese-taught majors: HSK 5 with at least 180, within two years.
• English-taught majors: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 90 within two years, unless English is your first language. If all your high school courses were taught in English, a certificate from your school may be accepted instead after Beihang reviews it.
• French-taught majors: the language level set by the institute offering the major.

Documents you need

1. Passport photo page, valid beyond 1 March 2028. Keep the same passport throughout, or tell Beihang if it changes.
2. High school certificate. Final-year students can send an expected-graduation letter and add the certificate before admission.
3. Transcripts for all high school years.
4. CSCA score report.
5. Language certificate for your teaching language.
6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form with blood test report, signed and stamped, valid six months.
7. Financial guarantor's letter on Beihang's template, plus the guarantor's bank certificate covering at least four years of tuition.
8. Your birth certificate and your parents' nationality documents from the time of your birth (passports or ID cards).
9. Police clearance issued within the last six months.
10. Signed Integrity Commitment Letter.
11. A notarised guardian's letter (Beihang template) if you are under 18 on 1 September 2027; the guardian must be an earning adult living in Beijing or Hangzhou.
12. Optional extras such as awards or a personal statement; art applicants must add a portfolio.

Upload scans only. Documents not in Chinese or English need notarised translations.

How to apply, step by step

1. Sit the CSCA test and get your score (dates and subjects at csca.cn).
2. Register at admission.buaa.edu.cn with an email address you check often. It cannot be changed later.
3. Complete the form and upload your documents, plus any scholarship forms.
4. Pay the CNY 400 fee by bank transfer, write your passport name and number on the slip, and upload the receipt.
5. Once the fee is confirmed, submit the application formally, then watch the portal and your email for review results and an interview invitation.

Important dates

Scholarships for undergraduates

• Chinese Government Scholarship, bilateral Type A: Chinese-taught majors only, applied for through your home country's scholarship authority with Beihang as first choice.
• Beihang Outstanding Talents Scholarship for new high school graduates recommended by their school: full tuition, living allowance and campus housing.
• Beijing Government Scholarship (Beijing-campus majors): a full scholarship or full tuition and insurance waiver.
• Beihang Freshmen Scholarship, and the Special Cooperation Scholarship for students recommended by a Beihang partner institution: tuition waivers of 20%, 50%, 80% or full.
• Except Type A, upload the scholarship form with your admission application or you will not be considered.

Tips for Bangladeshi applicants

• Book the CSCA early. Without a score your file is incomplete, and English-taught applicants must choose the English papers.
• English-medium and A Level students can ask their school for an English-medium certificate; Bangla-medium HSC students should plan for IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 90. See studying in China without IELTS.
