Fudan University English-taught Bachelor's 2027: Fees, CSCA and Deadlines

Fudan University (复旦大学) in Shanghai is accepting applications for its seven English-taught bachelor's programmes starting in September 2027, from economics and fintech to artificial intelligence and MBBS. You need a CSCA score report and an English test result. Round 1 closes on 26 February 2027, and Round 2 runs from 1 to 15 April 2027.

Programmes, fees and CSCA subjects

All seven programmes are taught fully in English. Tuition is per year.

• You must take the English-language version of every CSCA paper.
• UIPE, UIPI and GBF want a strong maths record; UIPDB and UIPAI want strong maths and physics.
• MBBS wants strong maths, physics, chemistry and biology, and Fudan says it is unsuitable for applicants with colour weakness or colour blindness. The final year is a 48-week clinical internship.
• Fees are reference rates, confirmed when you register.

Scholarships

• Shanghai Government Scholarship. Type A covers tuition, a university dorm or housing subsidy, comprehensive medical insurance and CNY 2,500 a month. Type B covers tuition and medical insurance.
• Fudan University International Students' Scholarship. Covers first-year tuition.
• Both are merit-based. Fudan considers admitted students automatically and emails results from July 2027.
• Programme awards. GBF has a Freshman Scholarship (CNY 80,000, 20,000 or 5,000) with its own application after an offer. UIPDB and UIPAI have freshman awards, and UIPE and UIPI students can later earn a Dean's Scholarship of up to half their tuition.

Who can apply

• Non-Chinese citizens with an ordinary passport valid until at least 1 March 2028.
• High school graduates qualified for university entry; final-year students can apply.
• Healthy, with no criminal record.
• English: TOEFL iBT 90 (new TOEFL 4.5), IELTS 6.5, Duolingo 110 or PTE Academic 61. Native speakers and graduates of high schools taught fully in English are exempt.
• If you will be under 18 on 1 September 2027, you need a Guarantee Statement from an adult guardian living in Chinese mainland with a stable income.

Documents you need

1. Passport information page.
2. High school diploma, or an original expected graduation certificate if you are in your final year.
3. Full high school transcripts (plus university transcripts if you are enrolled at one).
4. CSCA score report.
5. English test score, unless exempt.
6. Two hand-signed recommendation letters in English.
7. Personal statement in English, under 5,000 characters.
8. Non-criminal record certificate.
9. Financial statement, with a sponsor's passport or ID and their own bank certificate for at least CNY 100,000 or the equivalent.
10. Guarantee Statement (under-18 applicants only).
11. Recent colour ID photo on a white or blue background.

Upload colour scans as PDF or JPG. Documents not in English or Chinese need a notarised translation. Test scores, including the CSCA, stay valid for two years.

How to apply, step by step

1. Take the CSCA papers your programme needs, in English. Test dates are on csca.cn.
2. Register on Fudan's application system (istudent.fudan.edu.cn/apply) and choose Personal Application, then Undergraduate.
3. Complete the form, upload your documents and submit. Fudan accepts nothing extra afterwards.
4. Pay the CNY 800 fee online; unpaid applications are invalid.
5. Attend an interview if shortlisted.
6. Check your result in the system and download the electronic admission notice from July 2027.

Important dates

Tips for Bangladeshi applicants

• Book the CSCA early so your score report is ready well before 26 February 2027.
• If your HSC or A Level results will come too late, ask your college for an expected graduation certificate now, and get notarised translations of anything issued only in Bangla.
• English-medium students may be exempt from the English test, but HSC English-version students should confirm with Fudan first. See studying in China without IELTS.
